The Ville Platte Day Center has been opened since May of 1991, providing services to individuals 18 years and older with Developmental Disabilities. The Day Center is a social setting where the Clients are exposed to a variety of activities that teach social skills to enhance their lives. The Clients are given individual choices throughout their day to promote self-fulfillment and independence. Activities are available both in-house and within the community. These activities may include bingo, shopping, parks, movies, music, arts and crafts, exercise and fun leisure activities.
We are currently accepting new participants at the Day Program. In order to receive these services, a participant must be certified through the local Acadiana Area Human Services District (formally OCDD). They can be contacted at 337-262-5610.
If you are currently receiving Waiver Services (including NOW, Supports or ROW), you can contact your Support Coordinator to inquire about adding these services and schedule a tour of our Facility. In addition, if you are approved for Family Supports through AAHSD, you can contact their office about adding Day Program Services and scheduling a tour of our Facility.
The Day Program always welcomes volunteers to enhance the lives of the individuals we serve. Volunteers must provide proof of Covid Vaccination. Volunteer opportunities include:
